Street Serenade
The streets overflow with characters washed down the concrete streams that route the cities' sidewalks. Capturing this energy is a challenge that exposes me to people from all walks of life—some friendly, some dangerous, but most just lonely following the flow. Behind my lens, I meet individuals I wouldn't have encountered on a typical day. These encounters broadened my perspective and provided insight into the people and situations I see through my lens. My photographs are a tribute to the eclectic vibrancy of street life. They serve as my way of remembering a place in time and attempting to understand a city. These images of light and shadow mark the beginning of my nostalgia. The nuanced greys between light and dark are open to interpretation.
My street serenade offers a unique perspective on American life—one that is often overlooked or intentionally ignored due to personal insecurities. My photographs compel viewers to pause and truly see the individuals depicted, allowing them a level of connection they might otherwise miss in daily encounters on the street. Through my lens, I've had the privilege of meeting remarkable characters, and I encourage you to look closely at these faces as well. Find empathy, love, and value in them, and learn to listen with your eyes.
